I was recently introduced to this company by another blog who had nothing but good things to say about it. That blog was doing a giveaway and I entered. Unfortunately I didn't win but now I keep up with Mike the Gardener through Facebook and the blog they have.
Seeds of the Month Club is a simple and fantastic program. For less than $38 you get a one year subscription. The first shipment includes 8 different packs of seeds! For the rest of the year you receive 4 packs of seeds each month. That's a lot of seeds for only $3.11 per month! Can't beat that price anywhere!
Here are the other great features of the membership:
I'm not sure what I love more...the fact that it's priced so well, the free shipping, the fact that they're guaranteed non-GMO or that it's all made right here in the good ol' USA!
They send out a large variety of seeds, you'll always be pleasantly surprised when you open the mail box!
This is a picture from their Facebook page that a very satisfied customer sent in. Here's what Juliet Swedlund said, "Bought my Dad a Seed of the Month subscription for his birthday in March. Everything he has received so far has produced! Thank you!"
I love everything about this company. They're doing business the right way. They're also especially good about keeping up with their customers through social media. They have multiple Facebook pages too so be sure to check them out (and get more entries in the process!).
If you don't win, be sure to buy a membership so you can get a head start on your gardening for next spring! And remember, a Seeds of the Month membership is also a great gift idea!

I have enjoyed a lot of fresh veggies from the garden this summer, I am looking forward to some fresh corn on the cob, I would love to try to grow some corn one day. I love when I can get fresh goodies from local gardens!
ReplyDeleteFresh corn on the cob would be delicious! Mike the Gardener Enterprises sends out Golden Bantam corn which is the only non-hybrid/non-GMO corn that's available. Very cool to know they're a reliable source!
DeleteZucchini and Sunflowers! YAh xoxo Heather P. Spunky Real Deals
ReplyDeleteI love sunflowers! And zucchini is great because it's so versatile!
DeleteWow, this seems great! I might sign up even if I don't win the giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteOops, should have read the rules! I will be planting catnip and snapdragon soon :)
DeleteHaha you're fine! Catnip is great not only for the felines but it's a great natural mosquito repellant! Be careful, it spreads like wildfire though!
DeleteI would LOVE to try and grow any vegetables, especially squash, zucchini and cucumbers (my faves). I have only grown flowers so far :-)
ReplyDeleteGrowing flowers is more than I've done before this year! I'm new to gardening still but I'm the same way...I want to grow it all!
DeleteI have an garden that is 1 acre - would love to get seeds
ReplyDeleteThat's a huge garden! You'll definitely need more seeds to fill it up!
Deletemy son wants to grow corn and watermelons next year
ReplyDeleteThat's fantastic that your son wants to be involved in gardening! Check into Seeds of the Month Club even if you don't win. They offer Golden Bantam corn which is the only non-hybrid/non-GMO corn still available!
DeletePumpkins!
ReplyDeletePie or decorative? I love both! My dad has been on a mission to grow "the great punkin" for a couple years now.
Deletelove to plant cucumbers/tomatoes/ green onions marlenesmith953@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteSounds like you want to make some yummy salads!
DeleteWe're hoping to try Asparagus, and I really want to try sweet potatoes.
ReplyDeleteThose are both great ideas! Sweet potatoes are very good for you!
DeleteI would like to try berries of some kind. It would be so great to have my own pesticide free supply!
ReplyDeleteI do too! Fresh berries would be delicious!
DeleteTomato!
ReplyDeleteGood, classic choice! Big boy, roma, grape, cherry, heirloom?
DeleteI would love to try to grow melons next year. :)
ReplyDeleteAny specific kind of melon? Cantaloupe and watermelon are popular in my area. Very delicious too!
Deletewould love to win
ReplyDeleteBest of luck! If you won, what would you hope to plant first?
DeleteMy boys and I want to try growing lettuce next summer since we love salads!
ReplyDeleteLynn M
That's wonderful that your boys want to be involved in gardening! The salads you grow will taste twice as good! Aim for fall planting for lettuces and spinach. You could even start this month!
DeleteI know this isn't something small, but I'm really interested in planting an avocado tree or a papaya tree. Where I live, they're supposed to grow well.
ReplyDeleteThat would be so cool to have an avocado or papaya tree! Where do you live that has the climate for them? I actually planted an avocado pit recently but have yet to see any sprout. Hoping it comes up!
DeleteI would like to try chickpeas.
ReplyDeleteOoh that's a unique one! I love chickpeas...what a good idea! I'll have to look up what zone(s) they grow best in!
DeleteI love watermelons, would love to try to grow them
ReplyDeleteFresh watermelon at a summer cookout sounds lovely!
DeleteI'd like to try growing different varieties of potatoes in our garden, beyond just red and Russet potatoes.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea! There are tons of different varieties to choose from! Even purple ones!
DeleteI would love to grow sweet potatoes. We love them.
ReplyDeleteslhaydon at hotmail dot com
I do too! Sweet potato fries are my weakness!
DeleteI've never grown onions, I'd like to try that.
ReplyDelete******************
{in the contest I am Margot Core on the Rafflecopter}
Certain onions can be grown from kitchen scraps! Just cut the bottom root-end off leaving about an inch of the onion. Then either plant it directly or place it in some water till it regrows roots enough to plant!
DeleteI am a member of the seeds of the month club and enjoy the mailbox surprise! Also, I have had very good success with the seeds.
ReplyDeleteIt's great to hear another positive review! Thanks! What's your favorite thing you've grown so far from their seeds?
DeleteLove to grow beets and sweet potatoes! Yumm!
ReplyDeleteSweet potato has been a popular one! I'd love to grow them too!
DeleteI would love to grow watermelon next year. I like to ask my kids what they want to grow to get them interested.
ReplyDeleteEver since I started following your newsletter and facebook I get all kinds of helpful hints. I just love it. I don't know why I haven't signed up yet for the year subscription. Would love to win.
a_s7002@yahoo.com
I'm so glad to hear you're following me! Thanks for your support! Watermelon is another popular choice!
DeleteThank you for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! What do you want to grow in your garden next year?
DeleteWould like to win to save myself some money on seeds next year.
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely a money saving option! Usually seeds are $2-$4 per pack and even then you're not guaranteed that they're non-GMO! Seeds of the Month Club is awesome that way!
DeleteI've never done my own garden before, last year I helped in my neighbors and one thing he planted that didnt grow too well was spinach I'd love to grow fresh spinach its one of my favorite vegetables.
ReplyDeletegothiclvr18@gmail.com
That's wonderful that you were able to help in your neighbor's garden! Garden any way you can! Try planting spinach again this month because it's a better cool-weather crop. I'm trying mine again too!
DeleteI would love to try more herbs for my garden. I have enjoyed everything I have gotten so far, and am very pleased with the customer service.
ReplyDeleteNothing beats fresh herbs! I love plucking fresh basil for dinner!
Deleteeggplant!!!!! rubarb!!!
ReplyDeleteThose are two very different answers! More power to you! Both of those are very underestimated veggies!
DeleteI m going to give growing beets a try next year.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good one! Beets are extremely healthy for you!
Deleteeggplant!!!
ReplyDeleteMmmm eggplant parmesan anyone?
DeleteAwesome give away!! I love to garden and am currently waiting for my butternut squash to mature!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! It's so therapeutic isn't it? And plus, you get food out of it! My mother-in-law LOVES butternut squash!
DeleteI really want to try Sunflowers next year!
ReplyDeleteOh I love sunflowers! They're so pretty and always make me smile!
DeleteI love there seeds and had great luck with them this year. Either way I will get another membership for a year as it takes the thinking out of what I want to buy to plant. They few things I have gotten that no one here will plant I have given to other gardeners that I know would use them. I would really like to get lettuce in the ground next year (got it to late to plant this year).
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear another great review of Seeds of the Month Club! Depending on where you live, now might be the perfect time to plant lettuce, spinach and other cold crops!
DeleteThis would a great start for us. This would help us financially so much!!!!
ReplyDeleteI completely understand! I'd love to win a membership too ;) What do you want to grow next year?
DeleteNext year I want to plant sunflowers along with eggplant and potatoes . I think those would be great additions to my garden :)
ReplyDeleteThat sounds great! Your garden will look great next year!
DeleteI have a black thumb. Sure would love to get these and know when I'm suppose to grow what. I WANT TO LEARN!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm the same way! Subscribe to my blog through e-mail, Google + or Facebook and follow my progress as a wannabe-gardener! If I can grow things, anyone can! What would you love to grow first?
Deleteblueberries :)
ReplyDeletegracefaces@aol.com
I love blueberries! I'd love to have a garden full of berries!
DeleteI *love* the seeds of the month club and get excited every time the envelope arrives! If I win this contest I'll extend my membership so I don't miss even one month!
ReplyDeleteThat's fantastic! I'm hearing SO many good reviews of their company! What's your favorite seed you've gotten so far?
DeleteI would love to have this. If I don't win, I may have to subscribe.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! It's a fantastic program. I love everything about it and I never read any negative reviews!
DeleteThanks for the chance! I can always make room for new goodies.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! What would you like to grow in your garden next year?
DeleteI would love to be able to grow tomatoes year round...mmmm fresh tomatoes during a snowstorm...yah!
ReplyDeleteThat would be wonderful! Have you ever tried one of those upside down tomato hangers that you can keep inside during the cold months? I'd be curious to know how well they work! It's so hard to get a good tomato outside of the summer months!
DeleteZuchinni
ReplyDeleteVery good choice! Zucchini is wonderful and can be cooked a million different ways!
DeleteThese seeds are always the best!
ReplyDeleteGood to hear! What do you want to grow in your garden next year?
DeleteI want to try growing parsnips next year.
ReplyDeleteThat's a new one! They would definitely be fun to grow!
DeleteI have learned so much from the seeds of month page. Thank you for all you share.
ReplyDeleteMe too! They've got so much helpful information! What do you want to grow next year?
DeleteZucchini
ReplyDeleteZucchinis are great! Very versatile veggie! Nice alliteration right? I crack myself up.
DeleteI see in the picture that there are blueberries. I wasnt aware that you could plant blueberries from seeds, but I would like to try!
ReplyDeleteYes that would be delicious to have fresh blueberries!!
DeleteMmm! I used to love snapping beans with my grandma as a child!
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome! Cabbage is great and if you have a bounty you can make sauerkraut and can it!
ReplyDeleteI would love to add lots of strawberries
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more! Fresh strawberries are unbeatable! My parents have land and space for strawberries to roam (unlike us in our townhouse) so I'm potting the spreaders from my strawberry plants then bringing them to my parents property to run wild!
DeleteI live in an apartment, so everything is in containers. This year I tried doing a lot from seeds instead of bought seedlings and I was pretty successful. I want to do more seeds next year. My trial of carrots turned out great and I want to do more of them.
ReplyDeleteThat's fantastic! It's always great to see someone gardening against the norm in an apartment! What kind of pot did you grow your carrots in? I have 4 sprouts in individual Dickie's cups! Haha.
Deletei started my first garden this year using planter boxes we built in our sandy backyard. i'm ready to try anything, b/c it's all new to me! i love it! a year of free seeds would be the cherry on top of my garden sundae. thanks, hec!
ReplyDeleteSounds great! Raised gardens make it easier to weed too!
DeleteI have already signed up . I am always amazed of what I get every month.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! It's got to be a fun surprise! What do you hope to grow next year?
DeleteI love how Mike encourages us to try something new...
ReplyDeleteYes he does! I love the posts they put on their Facebook pages! What are you hoping to grow next year?
DeleteI tried it for 6 months, and I loved it! Ran out of money for the time, so didn't continue, but I have enjoyed it, and everything has produced well! I would love another go at it!
ReplyDeleteThat's great to hear! What would you like to grow next year?
DeleteI've never tried seeds of the month club. I just came across this and it seems like such a good idea. It's awesome that you get different seeds each month to grow. I've only been gardening for a few years and I love it. Good luck to everyone. :D
ReplyDeleteIt's such a great concept! What's something you hope to grow in your garden next year?
DeleteYou have so many nice readers--no one has pointed out the discrepancy above between when the contest ends and when you'll announce the winner! So I guess that makes me mean? Thank you so much for this giveaway, I didn't realize that there are flowers as well as vegetable seeds they send out. I would love to start a fall/winter garden with some cole crops and spinach.
ReplyDeleteYou're not mean, simply observant! I have a free Rafflecopter account which means I'm limited to ending my giveaways at midnight. I'm ending the giveaway Thursday, August 23rd, 2013 at midnight and I will announce the winner sometime on Friday, August 24th, 2013. This will also give me time to verify the winner. Thanks for your comment and good luck! I'm trying spinach again too!
Deletelove the pics ive seen cant wait to try growing tomatoes and peppers for sure!
ReplyDeleteYou could even start a "salsa" themed garden and grow the ingredients for yummy homemade salsa! I hope to try that some day!
DeleteI would like to try cantaloupe next year in my garden.
ReplyDeleteThat would be delicious! Remember to give them lots of space as they like to crawl a lot!
DeleteI would like to try eggplant and maybe some tomatoes for salsa.
ReplyDeleteFresh garden salsa is the best! Plant a few jalapenos too and make your salsa spicy or mild!
DeleteDespite being a city dweller I plant in pots.
ReplyDeleteMore props to you for having a container garden in the city! What's something you want to plant next year?
DeleteCool! We are new to square foot gardening and this seed of the month club giveaway would be wonderful to help us along. Thank you for introducing this company and for hosting the giveaway...here's hoping ;0)
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! I've heard great things about square foot gardening! What's something you hope to grow next year?
DeleteSince my sweet husband is just learning to like any other vegetable except starchy veggies and green beans....I'd like to try some unusual squash, different peppers, and of course, green beans, just to on the safe side :0)
DeleteThat sounds great! At least he's getting better! There are tons of varieties of squash and peppers to choose from!
DeleteI would love to try Sugar Snap Peas
ReplyDeleteI would too! I've heard they're sweet enough to pick and eat right off the plant!
DeleteSugar snap peas are great- ours are going by. What I would like to try is trellising tomatoes- the cages don't do so well for us.
ReplyDeleteThat'll be a good thing to try! The tomato plants in my parent's garden are so huge they a trellis would be better than the small cages!
DeleteZucchini !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteVery good choice! Zucchini can be cooked/baked a million different ways!
DeleteId like to grow rhubarb.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very unique one but a great choice!
DeleteI would love to try planting saskatoon berry bushes and raspberries.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds great! Everyone loves fresh berries!
DeleteI'd love to grow crook neck squash but can never find the seeds. We used to have them all the time as kids. they're great and very nutricious for you!
ReplyDeleteSeeds of the Month Club has a wide variety of seeds so I'm sure eventually you'd get crook neck squash from them!
DeleteNext year I would love to try to plant green peppers.
ReplyDeleteGreen peppers would be great! There are so many varieties of peppers!
DeleteNext year I would love to try to plant some raspberries, strawberries and sweet potato. That's probably too ambitious! Maybe start out with the strawberries.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that's "too" ambitious! Go for it! The berries will be great because they come back every year and sweet potatoes are delicious!
DeleteAlthough I couldn't possibly eat one, I've always wanted to try a Ghost Pepper in my garden.
ReplyDeleteOoh that'd be fun to grow, though! I could never eat one either but I'm sure it could be fun with friends who love spicy food and like a good challenge!
